Mike was born into a family of established musicians, most of them were on his mothers side of the
family. His Grandmother was Ellen Whittingham who was employed in the film industry. She was a
pianist who played for the Silent film movies

Mike`s Father Leonard Frank Vaughan has very famous connections too, like the first woman
Obstetrician in this country. That was his second cousin Ethel May Vaughan (born 1868 and died 1949)
Sir Louis Ridley Vaughan Knight of the Realm whose wife Emily Kate, lived in Hampton Court Palace
from 1949. Percy Cecil Vaughan, brother to Sir Louis died in batle in World War 1 on 26 Sept 1917
Arthur Vaughan was a famous Music Hall performer in the 20s and 30s around the Leeds area
Mike`s second name is John, named after his famous Great, Great, Great Grandfather who was
John Vaughan born in 1770
There is a possible link to Sir Ralph Vaughan-Williams the very famous
composer of Orchestra scores and film music
